Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik made the remarks while inaugurating a workshop on Municipal Governance and Development Methods for newly elected mayors and mayors at the Lok Sabha Bhavan today.
Informing that the various programs of the state government for the betterment of the urban areas have gained national and international recognition today, the Chief Minister said that the space mission development has become a model for the country. He also said that Odisha was the only state in the country to implement a clean drinking water supply system from tap.

In his speech, the Chief Minister focused on the flagship program of the Light Adi government.
The Chief Minister said that during the slum development, the state government had launched a land mission with more emphasis on land than land. The Chief Minister informed that so far one lakh fifty thousand families have been given bhumi rights while 585 slums have been turned into standard slums. That’s the way it is
The chief minister said work was underway in 20 cities across the state to provide safe drinking water from taps in Puri during the Sujal program.
Similarly, the Mukta Yojana, which was launched for the city’s poor and migrant workers during the Covid period, will continue and Rs 500 crore has been earmarked in the budget for this, he said. The Chief Minister said that the program, which was run through Mission Shakti and the slum development association, was very popular

As the 5T principle plays an important role in transforming urban development, the Chief Minister advised to implement the 5T principle at every level and provide better services to the people.
The Chief Minister hoped that the new leadership and new management techniques would be successful in bringing municipal services to new heights.
Addressing the workshop, Minister for Urban Development Panchayati Raj and Law Shri Pratap Jena advised the state government to continue its sincere efforts towards the successful implementation of various urban development programs.
The function was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department Shri G. Mathi Bhat Nan and Municipal Director Shri Sangramjit Nayak.
