as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. The   Ministry of Higher Education’s Innovation Cell and all India Council for Technical Education have coordinated this historic event. Sri Vivekananda Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Rayagada has addressed august gathering in the capacity of chief guest. He advised the participants to focus on latest technology in the present scenario. Dr. Satya Prakash Panda, President GIET University in his speech said that the progress of the society is guided by the inventions and innovations that the people make. Dr.Chandra dhwaj Panda, Vice-president in his speech asked the participants to ignite their minds for the purpose of innovation, which is the need of the hour for the present society. Dr Chintan Vaishnav, Director, Atal Incubation Mission, Niti  Aayog , Government of India joined the progamme through virtual mode and said that smart India Hackathon would benefit the student community in the future. Devang Dave, GIET University Nodal Center Head remained that Sri Narendra Modi , Prime Minister of India said that the dreams of the country can only be realised by the youth of the society . Dr. Goutom Ghosh, Vice-Chancellor, GIET University said that society would get benefited through this kind of Smart India Hackathon. Dr. Subhrajit Pradhan, Nodal In-charage has given the welcome address. The same programme has been inaugurated virtually at Central level by Prof. Anil. D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, New Delhi, Dr. Anand Deshpande, Founder and Chairman, Persistent Systems. In the grand finale, a total number of 209 participants with 31 teams along with 37 mentors have taken part and they would solve the problems by showing their talents. The 1st prize winner will be awarded a cash prize of one lakh and the 2nd prize winner will be given of rupees seventy five thousand  followed by fifty thousand for the third Prize winner. In this Smart India Hackathon, Dr. Jagadish Panda, Director General, Dr. N.V.Jagannadha Rao, Registrar, HoDs, Professors and students have attended the programme.
