Despite various measures taken by the administration, dengue is increasing instead of decreasing. According to the data obtained in the district, 34 patients were detected in the month of July, while 62 dengue patients were detected in the month of August. However, while this is the official data, it is believed that the number of dengue patients is actually higher. After so many patients have been identified, the number of patients in the Malkangari Sadar Mahkuma main hospital is increasing, while in the dengue ward, it has been seen that patients are being treated on the floor due to lack of beds. DHH Hospital has 8 beds in isolation ward for dengue patients. But because the number of patients is high, the hospital staff sleeping on the floor said. He further said, due to the increase in the number of infected, two more wards have been opened. But it has 5 beds. Even if there is a bed, patients have to be given treatment lying on the floor due to lack of necessary room. So far 27 patients are being treated. More dengue cases are detected mainly from Chitrakonda and Malkangiri cities. As a result, fear has been created among the people. Many critical patients are being shifted to Koraput. On the contrary, the District Chief Medical Officer said not to panic about the spread of dengue. In villages, people are being sensitized to use mosquito nets and keep the environment clean. For this, the Health Department is being supported by the Public Health Department and the Municipal Council. District Health Officer Prafulla Kumar Nanda, who directed the hospital superintendent to expand the dengue isolation ward in the district health center and increase the number of beds.
