Birla Global University to hold 5 th Annual Convocation on 29 th November

Prof. Achyuta Samanta to deliver the Convocation Address

Bhubaneswar: The Birla Global University will hold its 5 th Annual Convocation on 29 th November
2022. A total no of 310 degrees is being awarded to students of various disciplines. Out of which 203
are Undergraduate and 107 are Postgraduate students. Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble Member of
Loksabha and Founder KIIT and KISS will grace the occasion as Chief Guest and deliver the
Convocation address. On this occasion Prof. Samanta will be conferred with the Doctor of Letters
(Honoris Causa) by the University.
In a short period of six years, the Birla Global University has emerged as a major center of excellence
in academic and research in the eastern part of India.
The year 2022 has been a very productive period from all the perspectives for Birla Global University.
Even in the midst of the pandemic, the University has completed all courses and conducted all
examinations in time.
The University has received a large number of students from various parts of the country in the
academic session 2021-22. We have a rigorous process of selection and have been giving
opportunities to students from all sections of society by offering scholarships to meritorious and
needy students.
During the academic year the University has started new programs like Bachelor’s in Computer
Application, Master’s in Computer Application, M.Sc. Financial Economics and Ph.D. in Mass
Communication Law and English. A significant revision of the curriculum of all disciplines has been
done by the University with the input of distinguished faculty and industry experts in line with the
guidelines issued under the New Education Policy 2020.The new courses have got an overwhelming
response as there is a significant increase in student intake.
The University also placed all the eligible students in reputed organizations. This year, students
bagged offers from leading organizations like Deloitte, ADP, Federal Bank, IDFC First Bank, HDFC
AMC, TATA AIG, SBI Life, ITC, Jana Bank, Okaya Power, Sutherland, Alliant Group, Naukri.com,
Adfactors PR and etc.
The NSS Directorate, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India, the National Service
Scheme (NSS) cell of the University started in February 2022 with 100 volunteers. The NSS cell
currently has more than 400 active volunteers spread across two regular units and two self-financing
units (SFUs). Since the inception of the NSS cell at BGU, the volunteers have observed and organized
multiple events on health awareness, well-being, quality education, and gender equality.
The University has triggered up its preparation for National Assessment and Accreditation Council
(NAAC) assessment process. National & International Conferences,
Panel Discussions, CEC sponsored workshops on MOOCs, Conclaves, Management Development
Programmes, and Faculty Development Programmes are conducted throughout the year to enrich the
faculties and students.
Ahead of other institutions, the University has announced admissions open in MBA,BBA
(Hons),M.Com,B.Com (Hons),MAJMC,BAJMC(Hons),BBA.LLB (Hons), LLM, B.Sc. Data Science
(Hons),BCA,MCA, MSc. Financial Economics and short term certificate courses for 2023.
