Paradeep : The 34th National Road SafetyWeekhas been celebrated at various operating locations of AM/NS India in Odisha. Several road safety awareness activities were conducted with the objective to instil the sense of criticality of adhering to standard road safety measures in the daily lives of various stakeholders. Employees, workers, business associates and members of nearby community actively participated in various programs held on the occasion.
Striving for Continual Improvement for the long-term Goal to Achieve Zero Harm To People, Property & Environment and step towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)Target 3.6, theHealth, Safety and Environment Department of AM/NS India had organized activities including display of customized awareness banners and posters at prominent sites, distribution of badges and road safety card to employees and business partners, feedback collection of commitment/sujhav letter on road safety, technical session on vehicle speed control and training on defensive driving. Road safety quiz competitions for employees and business partners and competitions on posters, slogan, creative story writing, poems, creative photography, creative poster drawing, animation and short film, video competitions on road safety for employees were also organized. A Nukkad Natak and Drama were organized on the theme for employees.
The OHS (Occupational, Health and Safety) team had conducted colour blindness check-up programme for operators and drivers at the medical centre at Paradeep Plant.
In association with the CSR department of AM/NS India, several awareness activities were conducted involving students of nearby Nuagarh High School and Ambika High School including a rally on Road Safety. There was highly enthusiastic participation by the students in the drawing, quiz and poster competitions on the theme of road safety.
The concluding ceremony held at the Paradeep Plant of AM/NS India was attended by Sri Suresha G, Executive Director, Odisha Operations, Sri USR Raju, Head-Pellet Plant, Paradeep, Sri Ch.V.S.N.D Hariprasad, Head-Operation, Sri Rajarshi Sinha, Head-Business Excellence, Sri Shailendra Sah, Head-OpexCapex and other employees and business associates.Sri Sanjeev Muduli, Head-Health, Safety and Environment presented a brief note on the various activities organised during the period. The winners of the various competitions were felicitated during the program.
