AAP’s Manish Sisodia arrested by CBI in Delhi liquor policy case

New Delhi, 26/2: After being questioned for over nine hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Manish Sisodia, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister, has been arrested on allegations of corruption related to the withdrawn liquor policy of Delhi. The CBI had been interrogating him since the morning before taking him into custody.

Sisodia had previously stated that he was prepared to spend up to seven to eight months in jail. His party chief and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, had assured him that they would take care of his family in his absence.

“Manish is innocent. His arrest is dirty politics. There is a lot of anger among the people due to the arrest of Manish. Everyone is watching. People are understanding everything. People will respond to this. This will boost our spirits further. Our struggle will get stronger,” Kejriwal tweeted after Sisodia’s arrest.
