Accenture to cut 19,000 jobs, trims forecasts

Bangalore, 23/3: IT services firm Accenture Plc on Thursday said it would cut about 19,000 jobs and lowered its annual revenue and profit projections as mass firings at top tech companies continue worldwide.

More than half of the layoffs will affect staff at its non-billable corporate functions, the company said, sending its shares up more than 4% before the bell.

The company forecast current-quarter revenue in the range of $16.1 billion and $16.7 billion. Analysts on average were expecting revenue of $16.64 billion, according to Refinitiv data.
