Karnataka Election: Congress heading towards clear majority

Bangalore, 13/5: After high-pitch elections campaigning and record voting in Karnataka elections, the result day has arrived. Congress has widened its lead to the majority with 120 seats and BJP is languishing at around 80 seats.

 

The voting passed off peacefully on May 10 with a record voting turnout of 73.19 per cent, surpassing the 72.36 per cent recorded in 2018.

 

The election saw a three-cornered fight between the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Indian National Congress (INC), and the Janata Dal (Secular) (JDS).

 

The counting will be held in 36 centres across the State. A clear picture of the result is likely to emerge by noon.
