Elephant Death Due To Electricity In Ghuchangi Rural forest

Subarnapur, 14/6:-It seems that wild animals are not living safely. In Odisha, 784 elephants have been killed in the last 10 years, i.e. between 2012 to 2022. Out of them, 34 elephants were poached and 6 elephants were poisoned. 43 were electrocuted and 61 were electrocuted. Elephants have been killed. Similarly, 30 elephants have died in train accidents and 6 elephants have died in road accidents. The forest department is worried as the number of elephant deaths is increasing every year. The main reason for the increase in elephant deaths in Boudh district is due to the callous attitude of the forest department and electricity department. An elephant has died on the spot after being hit by an 11kV power line in the Ghuchangi forest of Kantamal forest range section of Boudh district. According to information, the elephant fell while walking in Ghuchangi forest on Tuesday night It seems that the elephant died on the spot due to the 11KV electric wire stuck in the elephant’s ear. It is unfortunate that the forest department did not see the electric wire while the elephant was living in the forest for a long time. There is a need for a high-level inquiry into whether the guards or rangers were going into the forest or not. Environmentalists have expressed the view that the weakness of the forest department is responsible for the death of elephants. It is clear from the fact that the foresters in the district of forest minister are not carrying out their responsibilities. Rangers and foresters have been appointed in the elephant death incident. Forest department has reached the spot and started investigation. Report, Ugrasen Karmi,
