SUBARNAPUR, 27/7 –A newborn baby girl was rescued at around 5:30 this morning. A local woman rescued the baby girl from a bush near Lalu Field in the town . The baby girl was admitted to the Child and Maternal Health Center of the District Head Quarter Hospital. After arriving, the baby girl has been kept in a special care and observation room. On reaching the hospital, the baby girl’s body temperature was high and her heart rate was very slow. Due to her weak health, the baby girl could not open her eyes. Seeing the body heat, the doctor immediately put her in the observation room and started treatment. Dr.Dilip Kumar Purohit said that after about three hours of treatment, the baby girl’s health is now stable. So the doctor sent the hospital authorities to transfer the baby girl to Bhimabhoi Medical in Balangir for her weak health and further treatment. District Child Protection Officer ( DCPO )Mr. Chaturbhuja Das reached the hospital and consulted the doctor regarding the health and treatment of the baby girl. The doctor estimated that the baby girl was about 28 weeks and her weight was 800 grams. After seeing the navel of the baby girl, the doctor revealed that the obstetrician gave birth to her at home. The woman who rescued the baby girl was her. While the name is withheld, it has been reported that after admitting the girl to the hospital, she left the hospital after seeking permission from the doctor. Both the hospital authorities and the district child protection department have provided the necessary treatment and services to the child and informed that the next step will be taken after the child regains good health.
