SC closes contempt case against Andaman L-G & chief secretary, asks them to comply with HC order

New Delhi, 14/8: The Supreme Court on Monday closed the contempt proceedings initiated by the Calcutta High Court against Andaman and Nicobar Islands Lt Governor D K Joshi and Chief Secretary Keshav Chandra for not complying with an earlier order on releasing monetary and other benefits.

A bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra granted the Andaman and Nicobar Islands administration time till November 30 to comply with the directions of the Calcutta High Court on payment of arrears
