Mohali, 22/9: Mohammed Shami took five wickets as Australia were all out for 276 batting first in Mohali. India then got off to a good start in response with a purring Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad slamming half-centuries and taking India to 142 in no time. With the match slipping away, Australia fought back timely with Adam Zampa dismissing the two set batters and Shreyas Iyer falling to an unfortunate run out. Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul’s 34-run partnership steadied India’s chase before Pat Cummins dismissed the young India wicketkeeper batter. With 89 needed off 99, the onus is now on Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav to see India through. SKY finally showed what he can do in the ODI format, keeping away from the flashy shots until he scored a half-century. He was on 50 off 49 when he fell to Sean Abbott but his 80-run stand with Rahul off 85 balls has put India on the brink of victory.
