Chilika, 27/11: The Chilika Boita Bandana Mahotsav has been held on Sunday in the premises of Balugaon College in the coordination of Balugaon NAC and Chilika Boita Bandana Mahotsav Committee to revive the rich culture,tradition, heritage and beauty of Lake Chilika . Committee President and Balugaon NAC Chairperson Sukanti Paikaray presided over the stage worship in the morning.
In the afternoon, various cultural programmes were performed by artists from local institutions while a public meeting was held in the evening under the chairmanship of NAC Chairperson. Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu attended the meeting as chief guest while RS MP Dr. Sasmit Patra attended as chief speaker. Similarly RS MP Manas Mangaraj, BJD spokesperson Amit Mallick,BJD Khordha district observer Soumya Sankar Chakra, ZP Vice President Gopinath Moharana, Banpur NAC Chairperson Mitu Nayak, College Principal Kalpana Dash and former minister Debendra Nath Manasingh were attended as guests of honours .Committee secretary and Balugaon NAC EO Prananath Seth gave vote of thanks.
In the evening session, Melody programme was organised by the committee . The Mahotsav was attended by thousands of spectators while there was a massive police arrangement has been made under the supervision of Balugaon SDPO Subhransu Sekhar Mishra and Balugaon IIC Jayprakash Parida in terms to maintain law and order.
