Gunupur:(AO Bureau) :-** – The Computer Science Department of GIET University hosted its fourth international symposium, ICMIB 2024, today. The inauguration ceremony saw esteemed dignitaries and experts from the field of technology and academia coming together to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in computer science.
Dr. D.P. Agrawal, the former chairman of the Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Also present were the university chancellor, Professor D.A.V.N.L. Sharma, the university registrar, Dr. N.V. Jaganadha Rao, the program coordinator Associate Professor Dr. Nilamadhab Padhi, and the Deputy Dean, Associate Professor Dr. K. Murali Gopal.
The president of GIET University, Dr. Satyaprakash Panda, vice president Dr Chandra Dhwaj panda and director general Dr Jagadish panda also graced the event, adding to the distinguished list of attendees.
Dr. Murali Gopal took the stage to deliver the welcome speech, setting the tone for the symposium’s discussions. Chief guest Dr. Agrawal highlighted the significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emphasized the importance of youth participation in civil service examinations. He praised the efforts of the young generation in striving to become successful individuals beneficial to society and India at large.
Concluding the symposium, program coordinator Dr. Padhi extended his gratitude to all participants and attendees for making the event a success. The event was also attended by the Dean of the School of Engineering and Technology, Dr. A.B. Srinivasa Rao, Controller of Examination Dr. P. Vijay Kumar, organizer from IGIT, Sarangar, Associate Professor Srinibasa Sethi, and GIET University’s Computer Science Professor S.N. Dash, Dr. Raghavendra Kumar among others.
The symposium provided a platform for professors, teachers, and student representatives to engage in insightful discussions, fostering knowledge-sharing and collaboration in the field of computer science.
