Gunupur:(AO Bureau) :-The much-awaited Inaugural Session of the National Conference on Augmented Reality Policy on E-commerce for Sophisticated Supply Chain System (ARPESSCS-2024) commenced today at the prestigious GIET University, Gunupur. Sponsored by NSERB and organized by the Department of Basic Science & Humanities, SOET, along with the School of Sciences, GIET University, Gunupur, the event promises to delve deep into the realms of augmented reality and its implications on modern e-commerce supply chains.
The day started with offline registration, marking the eager participation of delegates and attendees from various academic and industrial sectors interested in the burgeoning field of augmented reality. The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Prativa Kar, the General Chair of ARPESSCS-2024, setting a tone of anticipation and enthusiasm among the gathering.
Dr. Dipana Jyoti Mohanty, the Convenor of the conference, elucidated the theme and objectives of ARPESSCS-2024, highlighting the importance of augmented reality in revolutionizing e-commerce supply chain systems. Following this, esteemed dignitaries including Dr. A. B. Srinivasa Rao, Dean of SOET, Dr. AVNL Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of GIET University, and Dr. Jagadish Panda, Director General of GIET University, conveyed their insights and perspectives on the significance of the event.
The highlight of the morning session was the address by Chief Guest Prof. Adrijit Goswami, Professor & Head of the Department of Mathematics at IIT Kharagpur. Prof. Goswami’s speech emphasized the pivotal role of augmented reality policies in shaping the future of e-commerce, stressing the need for interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative approaches.
A momentous occasion during the inaugural session was the unveiling of the ARPESSCS-2024 souvenir, symbolizing the commencement of a knowledge-sharing journey. Prof. Adrijit Goswami was felicitated for his valuable contributions to the field, further enhancing the spirit of collaboration and camaraderie.
The session concluded with addresses by keynote speakers and a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Manas Ranjan Sarangi, the Co-Convenor of ARPESSCS-2024. The conference was hosted by Ms. Barsha Das, Assistant Professor, GIETU. Following the inaugural session, the conference proceeded with its technical sessions. The first session, chaired by Dr. P. The technical sessions continued with presentations and talks by eminent scholars and researchers from various institutions including GIET University, IIIT Kottayam, IIT BBSR, and BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad.
