Sundergarh:(AO Bureau) :- The one-month long residential Girl Empowerment Mission workshop 2024 was formally inaugurated at NTPC Darlipali on 7th May. The program was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri H.N Chakraborty, Head of Project, NTPC Darlipali and Smt. Madhumita Chakraborty, President, Abhilasha Ladies Club.
Sarpanch from the nearby villages, school teachers and proud parents of the participants remained present during the event. Shri Laxmi Mishra, Sarpanch, Chandnimal Gram Panchayat in her address said, “Girl Empowerment Mission workshop is a unique initiative of NTPC that contributes to the all-round development of girl students and empower them with numerous skills”.
Smt. Sandhya Rani Patel, Principal, Govt Upper Primary school, Chichinda expressed her gratitude towards NTPC for providing an exemplary platform to the underprivileged girls from nearby villages.
During his insightful speech, Shri H.N Chakraborty shared his valuable thoughts on the program. “Every year children come here with gloomy faces, missing their homes, and thinking that their summer vacation will get wasted…But, as the times passes, they start enjoying and getting comfortable with their stay so much that they actually forget about their homes”, he said.
In the coming month, various academic sessions and workshops are planned to enrich the participants with new learnings and day-to-day skills.
