Utkal Alumina Hosts Blood Donation Camp at Baphlimali Mines

Tikiri/Kalahandi/Rayagada: Demonstrating its commitment to community welfare and social
responsibility, Utkal Alumina, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited of Aditya Birla Group
organised Blood Donation Camp at Baphlimali Mines premises on 7 th May 2024 under its CSR
initiatives. The camp was conducted for the 1 st time and a total of 101 units collected from
voluntarily from the donors.
The event not only served as a platform for voluntary blood donation but also helped raise
awareness about the importance of regular blood donation in saving lives and supporting patients in
need, especially during challenging times.
The blood donation camp adhered to all necessary safety protocols and guidelines issued by the
health authorities, ensuring the well-being of all participants. Medical professionals and support
staff were present throughout the event to oversee the donation process and aid where require.
Mr Vijay Chauhan, Head of Baphlimali Mines of Utkal Alumina, and Ms. Niharika Sahoo, Head of CSR
Mines led the efforts of the team in orchestrating the event, ensuring its success and smooth
operation.
Mr Chauhan expressed his gratitude towards all the donors and volunteers who contributed to
making the event a grand success. He emphasized the significance of such initiatives in saving lives
and fostering a sense of unity and social responsibility within the community.
Among the dignitaries present at the event were Ms Niharika Sahoo, Head, Mines CSR, Mr. Siba
Mohapatra, cluster CSR head, Mr. Pitambar Behera, Head PR & Liasoning, Mr.Aswini Patnaik,
Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Andrakanchh, whose presence underscored the significance of the initiative
in the local community. Their support and encouragement added value to the cause and inspired
more individuals to participate in the noble act of blood donation.
