Sundergarh:(AO Bureau):- Concluding the month-long residential summer workshop of the Girl Empowerment Mission 2024 (GEM), Darlipali STPS organized a grand closing ceremony on 31st May, 2024.
The closing ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest Animesh Jain, CEO (NML) and RED (Coal Mining Ltd); Rekha Jain, President Swayamsiddha Ladies Club; and Ram Baboo Prasad, Ex-Director, Technical (Operations) CCL.
Darlipali began the month-long program on 4th May, 2024 with the arrival of 120 girls from seven government schools in the nearby villages. Beginning with the health checkup, the workshop imparted numerous skills into the minds of girls and gave them valuable hands-on experience in various domains.
From academic sessions to regular yoga and sports activities; from sessions on personal grooming & child rights to theatre show and movie screening; from dance & art classes to self-defense training and many more – the summer workshop contributed to the holistic development of girls.
The event was also attended by the HoP Darlipali STPS H.N. Chakraborty and other senior officials from Darlipali and Dulanga.
Young talented girls in one of their performances gave an importance message of promoting cleanliness and good hygienic practises in our everyday lives.
Darlipali STPS also concluded the Swachhata Pakhwada 2024 on the same day with various departments organizing a number of cleanliness drives for adding value to the overall cleanliness in and around the township and plant premises.
GEM is a flagship CSR mission of NTPC which is adding colors to the lives of thousands of girls annually and empowering them, thus ultimately empowering societies.
