Bhubaneswar : The Academic Empowerment Programme (K-AEP) 2024 of KIIT – Deemed to be University was on inaugurated by Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder KIIT & KISS on 22nd June 2024, focusing on “Teaching, Learning & Research @ HEIs: Integrating SDGs, NEP 2020 & Viksit Bharat 2047 Framework”. This transformative event, continuing until 29th June 2024 aims to integrate Sustainable Development Goals, National Education Policy 2020, and Viksit Bharat 2047 into higher education. Alongside this initiative, Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS, received the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award from ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) for his significant contributions to education, tribal upliftment, healthcare, and rural development at the 53rd ISTE Annual National Faculty Convention. KIIT also earned the Best Clean and Green Campus Award, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and fostering an excellent learning environment. These honors underscore KIIT’s leadership in education and societal impact.
From 25th – 28th June 2024, KIIT hosted a School Level Faculty Development Programme across various departments. The School of Sports and Yogic Sciences, under the supervision of Dr. Gaganendu Dash, Director General Sports & Yoga, KIIT-DU organized insightful sessions with many Faculty members. Highlights included technical discussions on integrating SDGs in teaching and learning, featuring Dr. Satyanarayan Mishra from Utkal University on Role of yoga in Educational Institution and internal expert Dr. Manamohan Rout on NEP 2020’s provisions for physical education. Day 3 focused on research, with Prof. Shakti Ranjan Mishra and Prof. Susanta Kumar Dash sharing expertise on technology in research data analysis and research publication in sports and yoga, respectively.
The programme culminated with an online session today on team building for sustainability by Dr. Baljit Singh Sekhon, Joint Secretary, Youth Affairs & Sports, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, emphasizing the role of sports in fostering team dynamics. In his speech Dr. Sekhon, praised the efforts of Prof. Achyuta Samanta for building academic as well as non academic teams for which KIIT & KISS is doing so well in academic & extracurricular activities. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Gaganendu Dash, DG Sports & Yoga, KIIT-DU. The event concluded with a valedictory session, celebrating the achievements and insights gained during this enriching academic endeavor.
