Joda, July 2, 2024: Tata Steel Joda observed Van Mahotsav at Joda on Tuesday highlighting the importance
of environmental equilibrium and the role of trees in it. The event aimed to raise awareness about the crucial
role trees play in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change.
As part of the programme, around 20 local journalists participated enthusiastically, planting a variety of
saplings including mango, lemon, guava, and chikoo. The hands-on involvement of the media underscored the
collaborative effort needed to tackle environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices.
Participating in the event, Rajesh Kumar, Chief, Joda highlighted the importance of plantation and its role in
environmental and ecological balance.
Considering the current environmental situation due to rise of temperature, plantation has become need of the
hour, everyone observed.
Van Mahotsav, observed in the first week of July every year, is a significant initiative aimed at encouraging
people to plant saplings and increase awareness about the importance of trees.
Tata Steel Joda’s celebration of this festival reflects its commitment to environmental stewardship and its
ongoing efforts to promote ecological balance through community engagement and sustainable practices.
