Deputy CM KV Singh Deo Chairs Meeting On Cold Storage Expansion In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, KV Singh Deo, to discuss the opening of cold storage facilities in the State.

The cold storage service providers presented their services, technologies, and cost estimates in the meeting. The Agriculture Department has accelerated efforts to establish cold storage facilities in each sub-division, as proposed by the Chief Minister. Two companies, one specializing in electric cold storage and the other in solar cold storage, presented their proposals to the Deputy CM.

The government is providing subsidies to entrepreneurs to establish cold storage facilities. Singh Deo urged the service providers to take advantage of this opportunity.

Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, informed that a delegation will visit the existing cold storage facilities of these organizations and provide feedback to the department.

Further decisions will be made based on the reports of the delegation, added Padhee. The meeting was also attended by the Director of Agriculture, Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Director of Horticulture, Nikhil Pawan Kalyan, and other senior officials
