Bhadrak, 17 h September: Ferro Alloys Corporation Limited (FACOR), one of India’s oldest and
most esteemed producers of High Carbon Ferro Chrome and Charge Chrome, has taken a
significant leap towards sustainability. On the auspicious occasion of Lord Viswakarma Puja,
FACOR proudly unveiled an electric vehicle (EV) for its Quick Response Team (QRT) at its
Bhadrak facility.
This initiative marks a pivotal step in FACOR’s journey towards achieving net zero carbon
emissions by 2050, along with the goal of reducing absolute emissions by 25% by 2030. The
introduction of the EV not only underscores FACOR’s commitment to eco-friendliness but also
reflects its dedication to innovation, corporate responsibility, and environmental leadership.
Additionally, the deployment of the EV is expected to result in a 40% annual cost optimization.
At the event, Mr. Pankaj Sharma, CEO FACOR, emphasized, “In alignment with our vision of
‘Transforming the Planet’ and integrating ESG practices into all our operations, we are thrilled to
introduce our new Electric Vehicle for our Quick Response Team. This initiative is a crucial step
towards our goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions and also aims to raise awareness
about green mobility in India for a sustainable future.”
Further reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, FACOR has installed a 14 KVA solar panel
system at its Ostapal and Kalarangiatta Chromite Mines. The company has also contributed to
the community by distributing over 500 solar streetlights, highlighting its dedication to fostering a
greener future. FACOR’s recent endeavors reflect its ongoing efforts to lead by example in the
realm of environmental stewardship and innovation.
