BJD Leader Bijayalaxmi Mohapatra Quits Party

Bhubaneswar: Bijayalaxmi Mohapatra, the organizational district president of Bhubaneswar, resigned from the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday.

She alleged that the show-cause notice issued by the party was ‘completely undemocratic’. She accused senior leaders, including VK Pandian and Manas Mangaraj, of humiliating her.In her resignation letter to BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, she stated that party leader Biswaranjan Mohanty’s misbehaviour, corruption, and irregularities have demoralized many leaders within the party.“Despite being aware of all party matters, Manas Mangaraj fully supported Biswaranjan Mohanty which made me feel humiliated” maintained Mohapatra adding that “I wrote to Biju Mahila Rajya Sabha President Snehangini Chhuria and other stalwarts of BJD including Pranab Prakash Das, Pandian, and Naveen Patnaik about the injustice done to her. But, no positive outcome was achieved.”
