Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to conduct an aerial survey today to assess the damage caused by Cyclone Dana. Starting at 11:35 am, the survey will be conducted via helicopter and is expected to last around two hours.
According to sources, Majhi will hold a discussion with departmental officials at Lok Seva Bhawan later in the day after the aerial survey. Yesterday, he reviewed the post-cyclone situation at a meeting with officials at the Special Relief Commissioner’s office.Yesterday, the CM held a review meeting at the Special Relief Commissioner’s office to assess the situation after Cyclone Dana. He announced that people in affected areas could stay in shelters for another seven days due to flooding and damage to homes. Homes have been destroyed in the affected areas, making it necessary for people to remain in shelters.Initial estimates suggest around 1.75 lakh acres of crops have been damaged due to the cyclone. Compensation will be provided after a complete assessment of the damage.Meanwhile, District Collectors have been directed to submit a damage report within seven days. Revenue department officials will assess house damage, while the Agriculture, Cooperation, and Statistics departments will evaluate other damages.
