Three Odisha Universities to get new VCs

New Vice-Chancellors to be appointed at Utkal, Rama Devi, Gangadhar Meher Universities as current tenures end. Governor Raghubar Das initiates the process.

New Vice-Chancellors will be appointed in three universities of Odisha soon. These varsities are Utkal University, Rama Devi University and Gangadhar Meher University.As the tenure of the present heads of the universities ends this month, the Governor of the State Raghubar Das has asked the Higher Education Department to start the process for the appointment of the new Vice-Chancellors.The office of the Governor has directed the Higher Education Department to accelerate the process and complete the appointment process soon so that academic activities will not be affected in the three leading universities of the State.As per sources, developmental and academic activities are often affected in the universities in the absence of Vice-Chancellors. Hence, the Governor’s office has given emphasis on the speedy completion of the appointment process.Earlier in 2020, the then Governor of Odisha Prof Ganeshi had appointed Vice-Chancellors (VCs) to six State-run universities.
