NTPC Talcher Thermal Awarded Prestigious APEX India Occupational Health & Safety Award 2024

Talcher 🙁 Correspondent):- In a significant achievement, NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project added another feather on it’s cap by winning the prestigious “Platinum Award” by Apex India Foundation in the Occupational Health & Safety category for the Thermal Power Sector. Shri Rajendra Singh Rawat (DGM Safety) received the esteemed award at the “9th Apex India Occupational Health & Safety Award 2024” ceremony held on November 23, 2024, in Goa. The award was presented by Retd. Major Gen. Sh. P.K. Saighal in the august presence of Dr. Avneesh Singh, Retd. Director General (DGFASLI), Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
Under the leadership and guidance of Shri Vijay Chand (Head of Project, Talcher Thermal), this honour underscores the unwavering commitment of the Talcher Thermal team to workplace safety for 200 employees and over 3,000 workers—a considerable challenge in a complex operational environment.
Shri Vijay Chand remarked, “Safety is paramount to us all and must be promoted throughout our project, township, and society.” His message emphasized the continuous efforts to cultivate a safety-conscious culture across all facets of the project.
NTPC TTPP expressed gratitude to its esteemed vendors, statutory bodies, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders for their active participation and unwavering support in maintaining a safe workplace. “Their participation is vital to our safety strategy and the successful execution of the project with zero incidents,” the management said.
The award highlights NTPC TTPP’s proactive approach to workplace safety, health, and environmental care, setting an industry benchmark. It reflects the project’s dedication to ensuring a safe and secure future for its workforce during and beyond the project’s lifecycle.
