Iran says it conducted successful space launch in programme long criticised by West

Iran, 6/12: Iran on Friday said that it successfully conducted a space launch, the latest one for a programme that the West alleges improves Tehran’s ballistic missile programme, Associated Press reported.

The launch was reportedly conducted using Iran’s Simorgh programme, a satellite-carrying rocket that had seen a series of failed launches, and took place at the Imam Khomeini Spaceport in rural Semnan province.
