SUBARNAPUR, 6/12 —- The District Excise Department has succeeded in arresting two ganja dealers who were smuggling ganja from Budharaja Chhak in Sonepur town. A Mahindra Supro van coming from Boudh site no.OD -17 L-3490.After stopping and checking they seized 22 kg of ganja in a jute bag from it and detained two traders Anil Kumar Prasad (32) and Bidya Sagar Sahu (26) of Golapada under Brajarajnagar police station of Jharsuguda district. Case no. 277/2024 A case was registered and arrested in.Similarly, at 7:00 a.m., Binika Excise Department stopped and checked an Activa scooty bearing no. OD-17 Z-7762 from Sonepur at Chowkijore Chhak and seized 10 kg of ganja from it. Alekh Meher (34) and Kiran Majhi (30), residents of Krishnapur village under Bhatli police station of Bargarh district, who were scooty riders, were arrested after filing a case in Case No. 187/2024 and arrested both of them. The staff of the department under the leadership of Prakash Sa,,Excise Inspector, was involved under the direction of Subarnapur Excise Supdt.Prabir Samal.
