Accident in Karnataka: 6 dead as container truck overturns

Bengaluru: A tragic road accident in Karnataka near Bengaluru city resulted in the death of six members of a family. The six died on the spot after a container truck overturned on a car. Police said the accident took place in Nelamangala near Talekere on the outskirts of Bengaluru.Police have identified the deceased. They are Chandrayagappa Gaul (48), his wife Gourabai (42), son John (16), daughter Diksha (12), Chandrayagappa’s sister-in-law Vijayalakshmi (36) and her daughter Arya (6). Chandrayagappa Gaul was the CEO of a software company, police said.Chandrayagappa and others from the family were on their way to their hometown Sangli in an expensive new car when the accident happened. The horrific accident in Karnataka took place on the Bengaluru-Tumakuru section of the Rajpath at around 11 pm. The family was on their way to their hometown to meet a relative. However, the police said that they were driving safely and that they were not at fault.Police officials informed that the car was completely damaged when the truck overturned on top of it. Due to this, the bodies were crushed and injured. Due to this accident, the traffic on National Highway No. 48 was disrupted. Traffic returned to normal after the police arrived and brought the situation under control.Meanwhile, a tragic road accident occurred in Pune, Maharashtra late last night. Nine people were lying on the footpath in the Wagholi Chowk area of ​​Pune city when a dumper ran over them. Three people, including two children, died on the spot. Six others were injured.
