Gariabandh: As many as three Maoists have been killed in Odisha – Chhattisgarh border, said reports in this regard on Friday. A Joint inter-state operation with Chhattisgarh was launched in which the Maoists were killed.According to reports, on the intervening night of January 2 to January 3, 2025 on border areas of Nuapada District of Odisha and Gariabandh District of Chhattisgarh an operation was launched.The Operational teams consisted of SOG Teams, Chhattisgarh Special Forces and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Reports further said that there was an exchange of fire today at around 11 am today with Maoists at Atang Forest, in border areas of Nuapada and Gariabandh.As many as three dead bodies of Maoists have been recovered so far. Further five weapons have also been recovered till now. Till the filing of the report exchange of fire is still underway and more details are awaited.On October 4, as many as 30 Maoists were killed in an encounter in Chhattisgarh. Acting on a tip-off about the presence of large number of Maoists, the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) launched an anti-Maoist operation yesterday in a forest along the Narayanpur-Dantewada border of Chhattisgarh. However, they came across the red rebels at around 12.30 PM today following which a heavy exchange of fire ensued between the two groups.Till the filing of this report, all security personnel are safe while bodies of 30 Maoists along with several assault rifles including AK series and other weapons were recovered from the forest.
