Bharat Express at Garib Bande in the Kashmir Valley

The Indian Railways has completed preparations to run the Bande Bharat Express train in the beautiful valley of Kashmir. The launch of this train is going to be soon. Considering the harsh conditions and snowfall of Kashmir, the train has been equipped with many special features. The much awaited Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project is expected to be operational by the last week of January and will provide convenient rail connectivity to various parts of the Kashmir Valley. The Udhampur-Baramulla project was first started in 1898. But difficulties were encountered in laying the track over the hills and it was not possible. Now the Bande Bharat Express train is designed in such a way that there will be no problem in its movement even in snowfall and minus 10 degree Celsius. For this, the driver’s seat in the driver’s coach has become more comfortable than before. Apart from this, a lot of work has also been done on the windshield of the engine. While this windshield is constructed in three layers, it has an inner layer that keeps the glass warm at all times. It will be easier to defrost because of the heat. Hot water will be sprayed into the washer of the evaporator installed on the engine’s windscreen, due to which there will be no accumulation of snow. It will not even generate steam. There will be no problem in running the train. All the coaches use good thermostats so that passengers can travel comfortably even in sub-zero temperatures. Water supply pipes also have double triple insulation. Due to which the water in the pipe will not freeze. The size of the washroom has also been increased. Apart from this, to prevent the flash system from jamming in minus temperatures, a heating pad is also installed here. Moisture will be eliminated through the technology, keeping in mind that the brakes can function properly during snowfall.
