Rasulgarh murder case: Naveen Patnaik grants Rs 50,000 to family of deceased for performing last rites

Bhubaneswar: The family of the deceased Sahadeb Nayak in the high-profile Rasulgarh murder case have met Opposition leader (LoP) Naveen Patnaik. The LoP expressed his condolescenes and gave away Rs 50,000 for performing his last rites.Sahadeb’s wife and his two daughters had met Naveen Patnaik at his residence on Saturday. They have demanded that the accused in the killing of Sahadeb be given strict punishment. Patnaik has assured them that at their difficult time and said that he will stand with them to tide over this situation.Additionally, a kin of the deceased was given the job of supervisor and ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh was awarded to the family members.According to information Sahadeb was hacked to death by miscreants on the Rasulgarh flyover. He is from the Kedar Palli slum area of Bhubaneswar. He was a Police Mitra and was close to MLA Ananta Narayan Jena.As per reports, four miscreants came in a bike and attacked a youth with sharp weapons. As a result the youth was killed on the spot. The murder was so brutal the miscreants have chopped the head of the youth completely. The head of the deceased youth is not visible, only the torso is lying on the ground. A scooter and helmet is lying near the body. Perhaps the deceased youth was driving this scooter when the miscreants attacked him.
