Angul, 18th January 2025 – The Jindal Steel Premier League 2024-25 has concluded successfully after several weeks of exciting matches that showcased the best talents from Jindal Steel & Power (JSP). Organized by JSP-HR Angul, the tournament, held from December 7, 2024, to January 17, 2025, featured competitive games in three categories: JSP Gents, JSP Ladies, and JSP School teams.
In the JSP Gents category, 54 teams from various departments and vendors participated in a series of 54 matches, each consisting of 10 overs. The final match saw Extreme SMS India face off against CHP Smashers, with Extreme SMS India emerging victorious. After winning the toss, Extreme SMS India chose to field and successfully chased the target of 121 runs set by CHP Smashers, achieving it in the 9th over with only five wickets lost.
Luna stood out throughout the tournament, earning the titles of Man of the Series and Best Batsman for his remarkable performance, scoring 213 runs and taking six wickets over six innings. In the final match, Chinmaya Sahu delivered an impressive performance, scoring 38 runs off 12 balls, earning him the Man of the Match award. Mariyappan was named Best Bowler for his outstanding 11 wickets in six matches. The winning team was led by captain Devesh Deepak, while Tanmaya Pradhan, captain of the runner-up team CHP Smashers, demonstrated commendable leadership. Both captains expressed their gratitude to the organizers and JSP Management for the successful tournament.
In the JSP Ladies category, four teams competed, with JQSFSS claiming the championship by defeating JQLC Club in the final. Similarly, in the JSP School category, four teams participated, with OPJS IX emerging as the champions after defeating SJDAVHS in the final.
The grand finale was graced by CHRO Mr. Dilip Sinha, who served as the Chief Guest and applauded the participants for their dedication and sportsmanship. Other dignitaries, including Mr. Atul Dubey, President SMS, Mr. Srikant Atre, AVP-SMS,Mr. Sarat Kishor Panda, GM – BHR, and Mr. Rajeev Soni, GM- Safety, was also present during the award ceremony.
