India is gearing up for a five match series that is crucial for winning the champions trophy so this spiritual gesture by Gambhir holds great importance with the team’s preparation.
The team has high hopes of redemption after a disheartening 1-3 loss in the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. It is a welcome boost for the team to have seasoned pacer Mohammed Shami back in the squad. After undergoing surgery for a heel injury, Shami made his competitive return during the Bengal Ranji Trophy late last year and has shown promising signs of recovery.
