New Delhi, 25/1: The Centre on Saturday announced the prestigious Padma awards on the eve of Republic Day. President Droupadi Murmu also addressed the nation ahead of the Republic Day.
Paralympian Harvinder Singh, who is the first Indian to win a Paralympic gold, has won Padma Shri award. Venkappa Ambaji from Karnataka has also received the Padma Shri.
The awards are given in various disciplines, such as art, social work, public affairs, science and engineering, trade and industry, medicine, literature and education, sports, civil service etc.
