Bhubaneswar: The Higher Education Department of Odisha has reprimanded college principals and lecturers of the State against transfer recommendations. The Department said that action will be taken against them for transfer and appointment recommendations. There are now many recommendations in the Higher Education Department for transfer and appointment. Applications are coming in with recommendations from ministers, MLAs, MPs and political leaders for appointment as principal, transfer to the college of their choice etc. These files are piled up in the Higher Education department. Not only that, the number of lecturers coming with recommendations from MLAs and MPs for transfer to one place is also large. Under this circumstance, the Higher Education Department has written a warning letter to all the college authorities disapproving such recommendations. The department has threatened that action will be taken against those who directly or indirectly influence the transfer and appointment.
