Basant Utsav 2025 Celebrated at NTPC Talcher Kaniha

Kaniha : NTPC Talcher Kaniha hosted the Basant Utsav 2025, organized by the Tanvi Sangam Ladies Club. The theme of the event, *”Gaon ke Rang, Apni Sanskriti Ke Sang”*, emphasized the rich cultural heritage of village life. The theme highlighted the importance of village culture, which is a blend of tradition, community, simplicity, and a deep connection to nature, history, and the rhythms of life. The two-day event took place from January 31 to February 1, 2025.

Shri Arindam Sinha, Regional Executive Director (ER-2) was present as the Chief Guest, along with Smt. Rupali Sinha, President of Vasudha Mahila Mandal. Shri Vijay Chand, BUH of Talcher Thermal,  with Smt. Vibha Agarawal, President Sagarika Ladies Club also graced the event with their presence.

Shri A.K. Sehgal, BUH of Talcher Kaniha, celebrated as Chief Patron.

The event was steered  by Smt. Renu Sehgal, President of Tanvi Sangam Ladies Club. All the members of Tanvi sangam participated and contributed actively towards the mela.  15 stalls were set up by the Tanvi Sangam, additionally  with various others  stalls from KV, SSVM, DAV schools, and other local and outsiders vendor having more the 80 stalls all reflecting the theme, “Gaon ke Rang, Sanskriti ke Rang” .The stalls showcased diverse aspects of village life and culture.

All the employees, family members & people from nearby vicinity participated and various departments of TSTPS assisted in elevating the Mela Celebration.

In addition to the stalls, several games and activities were organized, drawing attention and participation across age groups.

The cultural program was a major highlight, featuring dance performances and songs by the Singari Entertainment team from Bhubaneswar which enhanced the festive atmosphere. President Tanvi Sangam addressed the gathering highlighting the importance of community development by promoting local artisans and artistry. Tanvi Sangam also contributed towards Derang Ashram School by distributing bags and battery inverter beddings to Maa Bhairavi High School. Spectacles for assisted vision were provided to welfare centre women.

 

The entire day was a moment of joyous merriment for all, pulling all the members of Talcher Kaniha to the roots of our country “Villages: Gaon ke Rang ; Apni Sanskriti ke Sang
