Bhubaneswar: Veteran Ollywood actor Uttam Mohanty was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.According to sources, Mohanty’s condition deteriorated rapidly today morning, prompting his family to seek emergency medical care and he has been put on a ventilator.While the exact nature of his illness is yet to be disclosed, sources indicate that Mohanty has been battling health issues for some time now.The actor, who has been a part of the Odia film industry for decades, has acted in over 135 Odia films, 30 Bengali films, and one Hindi film.Mohanty, a native of Baripada in Mayurbhanj district, is married to Odia actress Aparajita Mohanty. Their son, Babushan Mohanty, is also a popular actor who has made a name for himself in Odia cinema.The news of Mohanty’s hospitalization has sent shockwaves through the Odia film industry, with fans and colleagues wishing for his speedy recovery.
