“AMBUSH (SURPRISE) TICKET CHECKING DRIVE”AT MANCHESWAR AND VANIVIHAR RAILWAY STATIONS.

Bhubaneswar : Khurda Road division has conducted an Ambush (Surprise) Ticket checking drive at
Mancheswar and Vanivihar Railway stations, to ensure that only bonafide passengers are
travelling through trains. The ticket checking drive has been conducted under the guidance of
Shri Anil Kumar S., Sr.Divisional Commercial Manager, Khurda Road, involving commercial
officer, Ticket checking staff and Railway Protection force.

During the above ticket checking drive, 133 cases of without ticket passengers were detected
and an amount of Rs 38,515-/- (Rs Thirty eight thousand five hundred fifteen only) was
collected towards fare with penalty from these passengers. Due to this surprise ticket checking
drive, the window ticket sale at Mancheswar and Vanivihar has been increased, in comparision
to the normal days.

The Khurda road division has planned to conduct regular ticket checking drives at various
Railway stations over the division in the coming days also. The initiative is a part of Khurda
Road division’s commitment to ensure comfortable journey to the bonafide passengers.

Despite repeated ambush checks, it has been observed that, the number of passengers
travelling through without tickets are still high. So, the Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager,
Khurda Road, humbly requests all the Passengers to travel in trains with proper
tickets/authority to avoid any kind of inconvenience during their journey.
