Bihar: Seven daring young men from Kamhariya village in Bihar’s Buxar district have ditched the crowded highways and embarked on an adventurous journey by boat along the Ganga River to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. They set sail on February 11 for the 275-kilometer journey from Buxar to Prayagraj. Their small boat was packed with essentials, including food, fuel, and a spare engine, so they had no worries about provisions during their 550-kilometer round trip. They relied on Google Maps to guide them through the river’s curves and turns during their overnight journey. The 84-hour long trip was reasonably priced, with the petrol bill coming to a mere ₹20,000. By taking less crowded routes, they saved energy and time and made memories of a lifetime along the way. On reaching Prayagraj, they moored their boat at pontoon bridge number 30 and covered the last few kilometers on foot, taking part in the ritual bath, snan, before embarking on their return trip on February 13. This bold undertaking exemplifies the resourcefulness and perseverance of the group. By taking a river ride that few would consider attempting, they demonstrated their bravery and mettle.
