Sundergarh: Jr clerk of Lephripada Tahasildar office in vigilance net

Sundergarh: Tightening the noose around the neck of corrupt government officials Odisha Vigilance on Monday apprehended a junior clerk of Lephripada Tahasildar office in Sundergarh district of Odisha while he was allegedly demanding and taking bribe. The accused junior clerk has been identified as Golekh Nayak. As per reports, a short while ago today Golekh Nayak, Jr. Clerk, Revenue Section, Office of the Tahasildar, Lephripada in Sundargarh district has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.20,000 from a Complainant  to process his  file  for passing orders to demarcate his land. Since last one month, the complainant had been requesting accused Nayak to move his file for above purpose. But, accused Nayak was demanding bribe Rs 20,000 from him to get his work done. Left with no option, the complainant then reported the matter to Vigilance Authority explaining his harassment. Based on this, Vigilance officials chalked out the plan and nabbed the accused Nayak today, while taking bribe Rs.20,000 from the complainant and handing over the same to one private person Arun Seth. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Nayak, Jr.clerk and Arun Seth (Private Person). Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Nayak, Jr Clerk from DA angle. In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance P.S. Case No.04 dtd.16-02-2025, U/s.7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the duo Nayak, Jr Clerk and Seth (Private Person).
