Air travel made easy, first flight from Mumbai reaches Jharsuguda airport

Jharsuguda: Flight services between Jharsuguda and Mumbai started today. An Indigo flight has arrived in Jharsuguda from Mumbai airport. The flight took off from Mumbai airport at 10:55 am and reached Jharsuguda at 11:15 pm. Later, the flight will return from Jharsuguda at 2:00 pm and reach Mumbai at 4:15 pm. Reports further added that the Indigo’s Airbus-320 aircraft will operate on this route. While the summer schedule for the flight service has not been finalized, there is a possibility of change in the schedule in the future. Jharsuguda is connected to major metro cities of the country by air. Indigo’s flight service from Jharsuguda is available to the capital city of Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru. Similarly, Star Air has started flight service to Hyderabad, Raipur and Lucknow. Alliance Air is operating flights between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda three days a week. There is enthusiasm among passengers regarding the flight between Jharsuguda and Mumbai. In what could be considered as a New Year gift of Odisha government to the domestic fliers, the state will have eight more direct flights to different cities of the country. As per the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Bhubaneswar airport will have direct flights to five more cities namely Indore, Dehradun, Kochi, Jaipur and Lucknow from January 3. Likewise, direct flights from Jharsuguda airport will be introduced to four more cities of the country, namely Hyderabad, Lucknow, Raipur and Mumbai from January 1, the CMO said. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi informed about it on his X handle. “A new chapter is going to be added to the connectivity of Odisha. Direct flight services are starting from Veer Surendra Sai Airport of Jharsuguda to Hyderabad, Raipur, Lucknow and Mumbai from January 1, 2025, and from Bhubaneswar Biju Patnaik International Airport to Indore, Dehradun, Kochi, Jaipur, Lucknow from January 3, 2025. This will prove to be a milestone in the economic development of the state,” he wrote.
