Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has designated the Housing and Urban Development Department as the Nodal Department for the overall supervision and management of facilities at Kharavel Bhawan. This decision comes in light of the growing need for coordinated oversight of the infrastructure and amenities available at the Bhawan. Kharavel Bhawan serves as an important administrative hub, housing 11 government departments and accommodating more than 600 employees. Several essential facilities, including parking, gardening, and hygiene services, have already been put in place to ensure a conducive working environment. Additionally, the government envisions the development of new facilities such as a canteen and a crèche to further enhance convenience for employees and visitors. Recognizing the need for a structured approach to maintaining and improving these facilities, the government has entrusted the Housing and Urban Development Department with the responsibility of overseeing all existing services as well as planned future developments within the premises of Kharavel Bhawan. With this decision, the government aims to ensure better coordination, timely upgrades, and efficient management of amenities, ultimately fostering a more comfortable and well-maintained workspace for government employees and stakeholders.
