Mumbai: The State Health Minister Prakash Abitkar said in the Assembly that officially there are 222 GBS infected patients in Maharashtra and there have been seven deaths due to the disease. According to available information, in the Maharashtra Assembly the State Health Minister Prakash Abitkar informed the House in a written reply that records have been obtained till March 3, 2025. The records said, there were a total of 222 suspected GBS infected patients in Maharashtra, out of them 193 have recovered already. There has been a total of seven deaths relating to GBS in Maharashtra. Six in Pune division and one in Mumbai. He further said that at present there is no increase in the GBS infections. On January 9 2025, the first GBS patient was detected in Pune district. Mumbai had one death of GBS infected patient on February 10, 2025 who was admitted in Nair Hospital on January 23, 2025.
