Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, expressed his deep appreciation for the contributions of women, emphasizing that the growth of KIIT has been driven by the respect and opportunities it provides to women. “What we preach, we practice. We have been promoting women’s empowerment since the inception of KIIT. He further noted that women have risen to occupy key leadership positions within KIIT, making it a model institution for inclusivity and equal opportunity.
More than 50 per cent staff at KIIT and KISS are women, and the ratio is the same among the students as well. Women employees expressed their sentiments about their deep connection with KIIT and the sense of security and opportunity it provides. They highlighted how the institution has created a nurturing environment where both personal and professional aspirations can flourish.
Adding to the celebrations, the Centre for Women’s Studies at KISS observed the day with a special focus on empowering young women through sports, under the theme “Empowering Young Women through Sports: Towards Building a Healthy Nation.” The initiative emphasized the role of sports in fostering resilience, leadership, and overall well-being among women.
Among others, Prof Saranjit Singh, VC, KIIT Deemed to be University; Prof Debasish Bandopadhyay, VC, KISS DU; and Prof Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT DU were also graced the occasion.
