Restrictions on journalists to carry mobile phones to Odisha Assembly lifted

Bhubaneswar: The restrictions that had been imposed on journalists to carry their mobile phones to the press gallery of the Assembly House in Odisha have been lifted. Now, as earlier, the journalists can carry their mobile phones to the press gallery. It is to be noted that the Assembly session is going on these days in Odisha. Earlier today a ban had been imposed on journalists on taking their mobile phones to the press gallery of Odisha Assembly. However, following the order, the journalists protested against it. They staged protest near the Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Assembly premises. And they refrained themselves to cover the proceedings of the House. Minister Suryavanshi Suraj went to the agitating journalists and tried to convince them. Later, he said that the Speaker wanted to discuss the matter with the protestors. However, as per the latest report, the ban has been lifted and now journalists have been allowed to carry their mobile phones to the press gallery as earlier it was prevalent.
