Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly has been adjourned up to 12.00 pm today as Congress protests with whistles in the House. The Congress has been raising its voice for violence against women. During the Question Hour, Congress MLAs started protesting by blowing whistles in the Odisha Assembly. Despite repeated warnings by Speaker Surama Padhee, the protesting MLAs did not stop. Following the disruption, the Speaker was forced to adjourn the House till 12.00 pm today. From the date of commencement of the session, the Congress MLAs have been protesting over the violence against women. Earlier, they had protested in front of the Gandhi statute outside the Assembly with placards. Deputy CM Pravati Parida proposed a condolence motion over the demise of former Sonepur MLA Debaraj Seth. The LoP Naveen Patnaik also seconded the condolence motion. Following that, the Question Hour began and while Minister was replying to answer in the Assembly, the Congress leaders protested by blowing whistles.
