Bhadrak: The administration roped in bulldozers in to demolish as many as 123 illegally encroached shops in the Tihidi market of Bhadrak district. As many as 123 makeshift shops have been demolished by the bulldozer. The administration has repeatedly issued notices against the illegal encroachments. Finding no other resolute, the administration resorted to the use of bulldozers and demolished the shops in the area. As many as four bulldozers were used to demolish the shops. Two platoons of police force were deployed by the district administration. After the demolition of the encroachments, drainage and bus stand construction will be started in the Tihidi market. According to information, during the expansion of the Bhadrak-Chandbali state highways in 2012, the makeshift vendors were compensated.
