Series loot in 2 temples of Nilagiri in Odisha’s Balasore district

Balasore: A series of loots has taken place in two temples of Nilagiri in the Balasore district of Odisha late last night. The looters ransacked gold crown and ornaments worth lakhs of rupees after breaking the donation box, ornament box. As per reports, late last night looters broke the locks of the Lord Shani temple in Chhatar Chhaka and Goddess Kali temple in Podashula area under Nilagiri police station and looted all the ornaments and money from the ornaments box and Hundi box (donation box) and threw them in nearby fields. In the morning, the temple priest reportedly found about the loot after coming to the temple to worship. He immediately informed about the loots to the locals. Also, Police were alerted. After getting information, Nilagiri police reached the spot and initiated investigation. Some villagers have complained that thefts were also taken place at some other temples in the nearby villages.
