12 Congress MLAs suspended for seven days from Odisha Assembly for disrupting house

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Assembly Speaker Surama Padhy on Tuesday suspended 12 out of a total of 14 Congress MLAs for seven working-days on charges of repeatedly creating indiscipline in the House. The State Assembly Speaker suspended the 12 Congress MLAs on charges of indiscipline, disrespecting the Chair and violating rules” after they protested in the well of the House after a proposal was moved by Ruling Party Chief Whip Saroj Pradhan. The 12 MLAs of the grand old party who have suspended are Rama Chandra Kadam, C.S. Rajan Ekka, Dasarathi Gamang, Ashok Das, Satyajit Gamang Sagar Das, Prafula Pradhan, Nilamadhab Hikaka, Pabitra Saunta, Kadraka Appala Swamy, Mangu Khilla and Sofia Firdous. Tara Prasad Bahinipati met MlA Ramesh Jena are the other two legislators of the party who have been not suspended. However, it is to be noted here that Tara Prasad had faced suspension earlier this month. On March 11, The Speaker had suspended him for seven days for creating indiscipline in the House by climbing onto her podium.
